Pre-work Asbestos Audits

Also know as a Part 6 audit.  This process is conducted within the guidelines of the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007.  It involves the physical sampling of products or materials deemed to possibly contain asbestos.  The samples are tested in a NATA approved laboratory and a full and comprehensive report is then compiled for the client.  Alsdale also include photographs of the site and sample areas in the audit, along with easy to understand cross-referencing throughout the report.  We always ensure the Audit Report is discussed clearly and concisely with our clients at the time of service.  We make ourselves available to attend meeting with secondary parties on behalf of our clients to ensure all relevant stakeholders have a full grasp on works to be undertaken.

Airborne Fibre Monitoring

Also know as air sampling, this process involves the strategic placement of small air/dust monitoring units about a work site during the removal of asbestos containing material.  The monitors contain filters which collect airborne fibres which are read at the completion of works.  These readings ensure the removal is conducted in the safest possible process and to the Occupational Health and Safety standards set throughout Victoria.  These air monitors provide comfort to all parties that their personal health and wellbeing is not put at risk during the handling and removal of the asbestos containing material.

Post-Work Visual Clearances

Clearances are issued following the removal of asbestos containing material from both residential and commercial projects.  The visual clearance certificate contains a number of facets to be met prior to the issuance of the certificate.  The elements of a visual clearance are:
1.   A visual inspection has been conducted at the site;
2.   The site is free of asbestos and asbestos debris;
3.   Works have been completed to the satisfaction of the inspector;
4.   Site is safe for re-entry by other parties not involved in the removal process; and
5.   Site is safe for project to proceed.
A visual clearance will provide you and your clients with a peace of mind that the removal is done safely and up to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Visual clearances are required by law for all removals of asbestos of a size larger than 10sq metres whether domestic or commercial.

On-Site Inspections

These inspections are a service we offer which involves minimal cost to concerned customers.  The process is simply for one of our trained inspectors to attend your site whereby obvious asbestos containing materials will be identified to you.  The inspector will then offer you the best advice in regard to treatment or removal of the material.  We can also check the condition of your product ensuring hazardous areas are clearly identified to you prior to problems arising.  This is a feature of our company that can assist, in particular, residential projects.  During inspections, suspicious material can be sampled and taken away for laboratory analysis, again at a minimal cost to you.  These inspections are particularly useful prior to purchasing a new home.
